Arthur Swallows Fairs, August 2026
The first fair
We took Rooh on the road for the very first time in August, with our first stall at the Arthur Swallows Fair in Tabley.
It was a really exciting day and I was definitely anxious beforehand, after spending time building up a small collection of pieces, there was always that little worry that people might not be interested! It was lovely to finally put everything together and see the pieces as a collection, outside of the website.
The fair also gave us the chance to meet some lovely people working in a similar world, from antiques and interiors to textiles and decorative pieces. We had some really interesting conversations and I enjoyed hearing about how other people have built their businesses and collections.
One of the best parts of the day was simply being able to show the textiles to people in person. We loved seeing which pieces caught people's attention, talking about where they came from and sharing a little of the story behind them. There is something very different about seeing and feeling a handmade textile in person, particularly with vintage pieces where you can see the marks, variations and imperfections that make each one unique.
Our first stall felt like an important little milestone for Rooh. It was a great chance to step away from the screen, meet people and showcase Rooh's collection.
